Exploring the application and then testing it such an approach comes in exploratory testing. We do not refer requirement in exploratory testing. Exploratory testing often performed as a black box testing technique, the tester learns things that together with experience and creativity generate new good tests to run.
When use exploratory testing
- The testing team has experienced testers
- New testers entered into the team
- When we do not have the requirement
- When we have the requirement but do not have time to study or read it
- We have the requirement but enable to understand it
Limitations
- Features could be understand by defect and defect could be understand by feature
- If development team give us build we will never know if all the features are existing or not
